Myself

Through this experience I learned that I content living by myself which was something that I had been worried about previously. I am still more of an in door person. I feel like I met my goals while away on exchange. I met a couple of new people while staying on campus which was fun. I was able to complete my courses and make good grades in both. My main concern when doing the exchange was getting good grades because that will count toward my course load and effect my graduation. The impact to my academic goals is that I will be able to graduate as planned in December while relieving some stress for the fall semester. Personal goals is that I am more comfortable being away from South Carolina so that I feel that I will not be as confined in my choices for further academic and career goals.

Bucket list reflection

Since passing through Texas before I have always wanted to come back so this is something that I can cross off of that list. I also did not think that I would have the opportunity to have a roommate in college simply because my family lived in the area and I wanted to save money in college. I am so lucky that I got an amazing roommate for the time that I have been away from home. She is the best, I love hanging out with her and just talking about our families and getting to know one another. She is also the only person who was not at all phased when I asked if she wants to go get food at 12 am. My favorite memory is going to the mall with her, each time we went we would also go the Boba tea stand and the Lego store. Thanks to her I can also cross off building a Lego set from list, I always thought that it would be hard but they come with instructions (I never knew that). I would definitely like to come back but probably not in the summer since it is too hot to really do anything outside, but spring time would be nice.

One week left

For the summer session it is coming to an end soon. For anyone coming out to Texas in the future I'm sure it will feel just like home as it did for me. There are a lot of similarities between South Carolina and Texas, you will see a lot of the same stores. The Woodlands and the Conroe area are great places to go shopping. My roommate and I went to that area to go look at dogs for her upcoming year. We got to meet the sweetest little dog there it was hard to leave him. I do want to give a heads up for anyone that comes here in the summer, since the heat can reach into the 100s you will be spending a lot of time in doors. However, that does make for more study time as well being able to get to know your roommates better.

Time to shop

Had a lot of fun at the mall in the woodlands with my roommate. The mall is two stories all around so they have a lot of shops inside. My favorite is the pet shop where you are allowed to play with the puppies and kittens for a little while. They had a actual Lego store that had several different sets, we got one and it was a lot of fun putting it together. I was very surprised to see a tattoo parlor inside the mall because we don't have anything like that back home. I also tried the Big Red drink that is signature to Texas, it is great if you like really sugary drinks. If you are a big fan of Moe's restaurant you have to try Torchy's here, it is next to the woodlands mall and it is so good.

Happy 4th of July

Happy 4th of July!!! Several places were shooting off fireworks tonight to celebrate America's independence. Our apartment complex was one of them. While this is a very exciting night it will also mark the start of summer 2 semester. I am excited to learn new information in this up coming course, as well as looking forward to having time to venture out and of campus. I hope everyone had a wonderful and safe 4th of July.

Finals week

The time has come for 3rd exams and finals. Due to the high heat and UV radiation here I have not been outside much. I have been staying in focusing on my school work. I am looking forward to the small break we get in between semesters. My work for the class has been going really well. Since the class is online I have messed up my sleep schedule a little due to the lack of structure of physically going to class and work. I'm not to worried about it though it has put a bit of a strain on going out. On that note I decided to save my adventures for the break and focus on school for the time being. It has been sunny everyday which helps with the motivation to finish strong with this course!
